USSSA Classification
USSSA and Texas
Tournament Baseball works very hard and spends a great
deal of time trying to classify teams in an effort to
bring parity of tournament baseball.
Prevention
of SANDBAGGING IN ALL CLASSIFICATIONS IS
OUR
TOP PRIORITY!
Since every team's
ability is subjective, USSSA reserves the right pursuant
to Rule 2.06 to reclassify a team up or down at ay time
which demonstrates a skill level and ability, which in
the sole opinion and discretion of USSSA, is over or
under qualified for a specific classification of play.
Although classification
will always have a level of subjectivity, we have
several comparative tools such as USSSA Points and Power
Ranking. In addition, we may use current
information from USSSA and other sanctioning bodies.
Example, if a team is
playing Super Series National and have chosen to play
Triple Crown D1, then we expect that team to play USSSA
Major.
Texas Tournament
Baseball reserves the right to make classification
changes at any time we deem necessary for the overall
integrity of the event. We will make every effort
to make those changes in a timely manner; however, if a
"mid" event reclassification needs to be make, we will
do so.
USSSA provides a skill based recreation style T-Ball
program for players 4 years old. Developing basic
baseball skills is the priority of this rookie division.
5U & 6U
