The Tara Sawyer Classic

Tara loved baseball. She was the only girl on her team, the Stingrays,
and in her league - earning her the nickname Uno. Her friends and family who
founded the Tara Sawyer Foundation knew that a select baseball tournament
was the perfect signature fundraising event to honor the memory of the gracious,
talented and generous 'Number 21.'
Annually more than 200 youth baseball teams from surrounding states convene in
North Texas for the Tara Sawyer Classic. With an average of twelve
players per team, coaches, supporters and fans, thousands of people are involved
in this weekend-long event. More than just your average baseball tournament,
the Tara Sawyer Classic incorporates family-friendly entertainment
through a Saturday night Main Event, raffles, auctions, childrens
entertainment and more.
Tournament games are professionally managed by
Texas
Tournaments Baseball. This respected organization manages all team
registration, play and rankings. Tara Sawyer Foundation representatives
look forward to greeting all players, coaches and fans at fields across the DFW
Metroplex each year on the first full weekend in October.
