Rainout Information

All rainout information will be posted on the website as soon as it becomes available.   We will also send out an email/text
(depending on what you have chosen in your team's profile)

Nothing spoils an afternoon of baseball more than a sudden downpour. Depending on where we are playing, we may deal with rainouts frequently or hardly ever.

It's our policy to provide updated information via our website at soon as it become available.

Unfortunately, those playing the 8am games are at a disadvantage because many times we simple do not have the information on the field status before you must leave.  Many 8am games are a "game time" decision.

PLEASE CONSIDER ALL GAMES PLAYABLE UNTIL YOU HEAR OTHERWISE!

  • Umpire Responsibility

The decision on whether to suspend a game ultimately rests with the game's head umpire. Bad weather before a game begins can lead to a rainout (or suspension) before the teams even take the field. An umpire can also decide to delay or suspend a game once it has begun. A "delay" is a temporary stoppage in play. A "suspension" means the game is canceled and must be rescheduled for another day.

If the game is put into a "delay" status, it is the umpire's responsibility to document the time remaining, along with the exact game situation (runners, batters count, ect) on the official scorecard and home team scorebook.

  • Official Games

USSSA rules state that if rain or bad weather suspends a game after it has begun, the game is considered "official" if the teams have played at least four innings (3.5 innings if the home team is ahead). This means the game will not be rescheduled and the team leading when the game was suspended wins. If teams have played less than 3.5 innings, the game must be rescheduled and finished at a later date.

In the event we can not reschedule the tournament, awards, placings and points will be award based upon the highest remaining seeded teams from the last COMPLETED bracket round.  Example, if we are playing (not completed) the semi-final games when the tournament is canceled, we will revert back to the quarter final games to determine final standing.  This hold true even if one game of the two semi final games are finished.

    Cancellation

It is to ultimate goal of Texas Tournament Baseball to play each and every bracket; however, due to circumstance, we often have to cancel or "push" to other date and tournaments. Please review our refund policy before making any decision if offered to complete on a different date.
